The Linc

Construction of the Linc, properly Lincoln Financial Field, began in May 2001 and was finally completed after 28 months. The State of Pennsylvania, City of Philadelphia, NFL, and the Philadelphia Eagles provided finances for the project. It cost $512 million for the construction of the Lincoln Financial Field and $139.6 million was paid for the 20 year naming rights.

The Linc’s field consists of four jail cells located at the right side of the stadium. Seats along the sidelines are only 60 feet away from the field and it has a sitting capacity of 68,532 people which is over 3,000 more than the previous Vet stadium.

The new stadium is the home of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Temple Owls (a college football team).
